Health Educator, Inland Empire Health Plans

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Health Education, the Health Educator assists in the development and implementation of IEHP Member Health Education Programs and services.

Major Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
  1. Review educational materials for current clinical content, reading level, cultural and population appropriateness.
  2. Research and write IEHP-specific health education materials and curricula as mandated by regulatory and accreditation agencies, and in collaboration with other relevant IEHP departments.
  3. Develop and implement population-specific health education programs.
  4. Provide health education to Members.
  5. Provide technical assistance to IPAs, practitioners, and contracted Providers in implementing health education programs and services.
  6. Assist in developing and monitoring IEHP Health Education standards and training protocols.
  7. Participate in community education and outreach activities.
  8. Oversee Health Education Professional Service Agreements.
  9. Oversee and assist in daily operations and processes for assigned Health Education Programs.
  10. Any other duties as required to ensure Health Plan operations are successful.
  11. Ensure the privacy and security of PHI (Protected Health Information) as outlined in IEHP’s policies and procedures relating to HIPAA compliance.
