It’s Friday, HCC Fam! This is the day of the week that we start waiting for on Sunday night! Regardless of it being Friday, we still have a tip to drop for “Resume Week” so let’s get into it:
Tip 4: Pitch yourself. Think of the resume headline as the movie synopsis about your career. You will want to convey your experience level (early/mid-career/senior), industry expertise, and how you have used those skills and experiences to get to your next step. Remember to avoid descriptors if they aren’t validated later in your resume.
Every opportunity is the perfect chance to “sell yourself” and if your resume isn’t doing a good job at communicating that, then it’s time to start over and do some major revisions! I love the idea of having a headline because after reviewing many resumes of candidates at my organization, I can tell you that not many people have one. Make sure you stand out-within reason, of course!
I’ll see ya’ll tomorrow for the last day of “Resume Week”
