Boston Internships
Boston
is one of the world's leading centers of medical care delivery, research
and education. HCC started the Boston program in 2000 with the support
of leading healthcare organizations such as:
- Brigham and Women's Hospital
- Partners Healthcare
- Massachusetts General Hospital.
- HCC has also offered internships in other leading organizations such as;
- Dana Farber Cancer Institute
- Beth Isreal-Deaconness Medical Center
- Boston Medical Center
- Newton Wellesley Hospital
- Faulkner Hospital
These organizations provide excellent exposure to the administrative, clinical, medical education and research aspects of healthcare.
HCC interns also have the opportunity to obtain assistance with public health and medical career decision-making through HCC workshops that involve faculty, students and alumni of Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Public Health. Faculty From Harvard School of Public Health are partnering with HCC to increase the number of students from all ethnic backgrounds successfully pursuing careers in public health.
This year HCC is excited to introduce a new partnership with the Institute of Health Professions at Massachusetts General Hospital (IHP). The IHP is a leading provider of post-baccalaureate education in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Speech Pathology and Clinical Investigation. IHP is partnering with HCC to offer a limited number of internships in each of these areas. The internships are targeted at undergraduate students to provide valuable exposure, experience and support to strengthen their preparation, motivation and ability to succeed. Like HCC, IHP is committed to increasing diversity in health professions and strongly encourages students of color to apply.
HCC Boston interns have come from a broad range of universities throughout New England and the East Coast. Students from anywhere in the country are welcome to apply, but must be able to arrange their own housing. |
